Welcome to Your Pregnancy & Postpartum Resource Guide!
Pregnancy and new motherhood are incredibly rewarding seasons. But they can also come with their share of uncertainty, questions, and overwhelm. That’s why I created this guide: to serve as a trusted, one-stop resource for expecting and new moms in the Peoria area.
Whether you’re preparing for birth, navigating those early newborn days, or looking for local support and services, my goal is to help ease some of the burdens you may feel by gathering everything you might need in one place.
You’re not alone on this journey—and I hope this guide provides not only helpful tools and information, but also a sense of support and community as you step into this beautiful chapter of motherhood.

Begin with a birth plan. A birth plan is a simple document that outlines your preferences for labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum care. It can include things like:
- Who you want in the room during labor
- Whether you plan to use pain medication
- Preferences for movement, monitoring, and labor positions
- Delayed cord clamping or immediate skin-to-skin
- Newborn procedures (bathing, eye ointment, vitamin K, etc.)
More than anything, your birth plan is a communication tool, a starting point for conversations with your OB/GYN, midwife, or doula. It also helps labor and delivery nurses understand your wishes so they can better support you.
That said, birth is unpredictable, and your care team may need to make medical decisions that differ from your original plan. The goal isn’t to script every moment, but to clarify your values and priorities so you feel informed, empowered, and respected—whatever direction your birth takes.
