May is Foster Care Awareness Month, and in the spirit of raising awareness, here's a not-so-fun fact: Did you know that there are over 1,500 kids experiencing foster care in our very own tri-county area? Foster Village Peoria is a community-funded, volunteer-powered organization that seeks to bridge the (many!) gaps in care and support for not only these children in foster care, but also for children who have recently reunified home, children who have been adopted through foster care, and families working intact case plans.
We understand that not everyone can be a foster family, but we're excited to share that ANYONE can help support families affected by foster care by joining in on Foster Village Peoria's 2nd Annual Lemonade Stand Fundraiser! 
Last May, families and neighbors from all over the Peoria area hosted lemonade stands and donated over $7,300 to Foster Village Peoria! We saw stands offering lemonade, hot dogs, delicious baked goods of every shape and size, and even hot chocolate on an unseasonably chilly day, and every dollar raised went to supporting families in our community who are affected by foster care - what an impact!
Our Lemonade Stand Fundraiser is the perfect way to teach our kids that, with a little hard work and a whole lot of fun, anyone and everyone can come alongside and support the local foster community!
